Universal has made another Halloween Horror Nights announcement, this one regarding an iconic horror movie character: Jason Vorhees.

Both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will feature the original haunted house “Jason Universe” for their 2025 Halloween Horror Nights events. Jason Universe will allow guests to step into Camp Crystal Lake and experience Jason’s story.

Thus far, Universal Orlando has announced that one of the houses will be tied in with Prime’s series Fallout. They also dropped a Twitter / X post stating that Five Nights at Freddie’s would be represented, but they did specify if it will be a house, a scare zone, or something entirely different.

The legend of Jason began with 1980’s Friday the 13th, a film that was made on a budget of $550,000. It was critically panned for the most part, but was a huge commercial success. It would go on to spawn 11 sequels, in addition to the original film, and every time someone sees a hocky mask, they most likely think of Jason.

Speaking of which, he didn’t even don the hocky mask until Friday the 13th Part 3. In the first film, he was only seen in flashbacks as a child (remember that jump-scare ending?), and in the second one, he wore a burlap sack over his face. But the hocky mask stuck, and he has worn it in every sequel since then.

Halloween Horror Nights began in 1991 as a three-night event at Universal Studios Orlando. Over the years since, it jumped to Universal’s Islands of Adventure, then expanded to both parks before returning once again to Universal Studios. It is one of the most highly-anticipated Halloween events in Florida. Guests come not only to enjoy the houses, but to experience themed scare zones, specially created food and drink items, exclusive merchandise, live shows and much more.

According to Universal’s press release, Jason Universe will lead visitors on a “vengeance tour throughout the summer camp to see where it all began.” While there, you will visit his cabin and the main lodge, as well as the forest where Jason stalks his prey. Several moments from his career in murder will be replayed, and you might just end up fighting for your life against Jason and his machete.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando begins on Friday, August 29, and the Hollywood event opens for business on Thursday, September 4. For more information, or to purchase tickets and add-ons, visit the Halloween Horror Nights website.
