Over the past week, Halloween Horror Nights has continued their recent trend of announcing HHN news via social media. Each morning during the week of July 14 through 18, a new theme announcement was made regarding Scare Zones and Street experiences.
For those not in the know, Scare Zones are sections of the Universal theme park that immerse visitors in whatever scary theme they represent – from the music or soundscape, to the fog machines, to the scareactors, during your short walk through the zone, you will feel like you are in another horror-filled world. It’s a great way to keep that amped-up, scared out of your wits feeling going in between the haunted houses.
Eight of the ten haunted house themes have already been announced, including all five of the original themed houses. Those include:
- Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters
- Dolls: Let's Play Dead
- Grave of Flesh
- Galkn: Monsters of the North
- El Artista: A Spanish Haunting
- Jason Universe
- Terrifier
- Fallout

Here are the Scare Zone themes for Halloween Horror Nights 2025:
The Origins of Horror – Step into an area of twisted vines, where terrifyingly talented artists carve their tributes to Halloween Horror Nights. Their creations include gargoyles, crows and much more.
Masquerade: Dance with Death – Welcome to a blood-thirsty masquerade ball, where some of the participants are actually vampires in disguise. Will you become one of their victims?
The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane – Enter a creepy home by travelling a winding path. There you will see hapless trick-or-treaters being transformed into feral cats…will you be next?
Mutations: Toxic Twenties – Step back into the 1920s, where a truck carrying radioactive cargo has crashed into a mob getaway vehicle. Now the city is in very toxic danger!
The two “Street Experiences” that have been announced include Mel’s Di e-In: Zombies and Club Horror. Little info has been given on the experiences beyond this statement: “Brave all-new street experiences that take the horror to new heights – featuring zombie carhops, undead DJs and more. Details coming soon.”
