Get ready for thrills: Watch the gripping new teaser trailer for The Monkey
There are still so many horror movies left to come out this year that we're excited about, but we're already looking ahead to next year. In fact, the supernatural horror film The Monkey will be released in theaters at the top of 2025, and Neon just dropped a new teaser trailer. Check it out above!
There's so much going on in the 1-minute and 27-second teaser, and watching it just made us even more pumped about the movie's upcoming release. Mark your calendar because The Monkey is set to land in theaters on Feb. 21, 2025.
The Monkey is based on Stephen King's 1980 horror short story of the same name, which was included in his Skeleton Crew collection published in 1985. Longlegs director Osgood Perkins wrote the script for the feature film adaptation and helmed it as well. In addition, James Wan (Saw franchise, The Conjuring Universe) is a producer of the film.
The story centers around twin brothers, Hal and Bill, who begin to witness a series of brutal deaths happening all around them after finding their deceased father's vintage toy monkey in the attic. They decide to get rid of the cursed toy, hoping that it will stop the gruesome deaths, and move on with their lives. But when the killings start happening again, the twin duo must team up again to put a stop to it.
Theo James (The White Lotus, The Gentlemen) plays the twin brothers, Hal and Bill, while Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth) portrays the younger versions of the twins. Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Invincible), Elijah Wood (Yellowjackets, The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Colin O’Brien (Wonka, Dear Edward), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends, The Hardy Boys), and Sarah Levy (Schitt's Creek) are also in the cast.
An official trailer will finally drop once we get closer to the film's theatrical release date. It'll probably be released sometime in December or January. Don't worry! We'll be sure to share it with you as soon as it drops. But for now, this is all we know about The Monkey.
