Yellowjackets picks up after the girls (and Travis) feasted on Jackie, leaving nothing behind but her literal bones. They have to figure out what to do with her remains, so Nat takes it upon herself to gather the bones and bring them back to the place where all of the other crash victims are buried. Ben glibly points out that, at least this way, if they ever get rescued people will think Jackie just died with the rest.

Taissa doesn't even remember eating Jackie and is disturbed to learn it didn't even happen in her dark fugue state. Van points out that Tai was right next to her when they were partaking in cannibalism. It was a real thing that happened.

At the crash site, Nat spots a massive white moose and tries to shoot it but she misses. The moose charges at her and then vanishes. Was it even real?

Also during the wilderness sequence in this episode, the girls try to prepare for Shauna's baby to be born by throwing a baby shower to the best of their ability, what with their limited resources. It goes mostly okay with everyone pitching in somehow, but then Shauna's nose starts bleeding a bunch of birds fall down dead onto the roof of the cabin. Seems like a bad omen.

And even though Taissa wasn't sleepwalking during the Jackie buffet, she very much does sleepwalk again later. Van wakes up and asks to go with her if she unties her and Taissa allows her to. In her fugue, she brings Van right to the tree marked with the mysterious symbol. She tells Van that she's being lured there by "The Man with No Eyes."

Coach Ben is also dealing with his own trauma and appears to have suffered a serious mental break after seeing the girls eat Jackie. He thinks back to his life before the crash and the relationship he had with a writer named Paul (François Arnaud). One night, Paul suggests that it's time for Ben to move in with him permanently, but Ben says he can't. There's too much going on with the girl's soccer team and with nationals coming up, moving now would be difficult. Paul feels like Ben will never put him or their relationship first and asks Ben to leave.

The next part of his flashback shows Ben returning to Paul and telling him he quit his job and he's not going to nationals, essentially choosing Paul. But sadly we know that's not what actually happened, it just indicates what Ben wishes he'd done differently.

Present

Misty and Walter interrogate their only witness to Natalie's disappearance, it turns out to be Randy Walsh, Jeff's high school friend and a school bully. Since he would recognize Misty, Walter has to take over the interview with Misty in his ear. But Randy doesn't turn out to be much help, apart from telling them that a group of people wearing all purple were hanging around the place.

Of course, we know those were Lottie's cult members. They do get a lead, however, as Randy complains they always drank all the Fanta (the purple one?) in the vending machine, leading Misty to suggest they check and see if they can find the credit card and trace it, which Walter does successfully.

Shauna and Jeff are still struggling to move forward in their relationship after everything with Adam. Shauna admits part of the allure of the affair was the spontaneity, leading Jeff to try something different. On the way home from a restaurant, Jeff, trying to give Shauna what she wants, changes direction and says he's taking them to Colonial Williamsburg, but they don't get far before a car hijacker intervenes and steals the minivan. Shauna attacks the man and takes his gun, but Jeff just tells her to let him go with the car.

Now armed with the gun, Shauna later finds out where the van was taken through a tracker and goes to get it back. She threatens the man at the garage with her gun, reveling in his fear. It's kind of scary to see her like that. But she does successfully get the car back.

As for Jeff, while he's working out at the gym he runs into Kevyn Tan and confronts him over his questioning Shauna regarding Adam's disappearance. Jeff tries to convince Kevyn that Shauna had nothing to do with it, to which Kevyn informs him of the tip they received regarding the affair, unaware that Jeff is obviously completely aware of this already.

Natalie remains at Lottie's commune for now, with Lottie convincing her to participate in some of the group exercises. One of them involves the girl who previously attended to a captive Natalie, Lisa, getting her chance to confront Natalie for attacking her. Lottie even gives Lisa a knife and tells her she should hurt Natalie if she feels inclined to. But Lisa instead forgives Natalie and hugs her.

Toward the end of the episode, Lottie has a strange hallucination regarding one of the group's beehives. She sees all the bees as dead and the interior covered completely in blood.

Taissa spends this episode in the hospital alongside Simone, who is now in a coma after the car crash. At one point Taissa goes into the bathroom and stares at herself in the mirror but in a chilling moment, she notices that her reflection isn't her, but seemingly her "other" self.

Yellowjackets season 3 premieres on Friday, Feb. 14 on Paramount+ with Showtime.
