Tony Moran in Halloween (Dimension FIlms)
The only time in the entire Halloween franchise when we got to see Michael Myers getting unmasked as an adult was in John Carpenter’s original. During a struggle with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), the mute killer’s mask is removed. He quickly puts it back on before continuing his attack.
A lot of fans may not have realized that when Myers’ face is shown, it’s not the same actor that’s seen wearing the costume throughout the rest of the movie. For this particular moment, Tony Moran was brought in as Carpenter preferred to use another actor’s face for that shot. Nick Castle would be the one actually wearing the mask and killing people.
Interestingly enough, Tony Moran will actually be reprising this role in a fan-made sequel to the original Halloween franchise (before Rob Zombie took over). That will be very interesting to see Moran returning to the role, making me wonder if Myers will again be unmasked in the fan film. Otherwise, what’s the point?
In any case, if you want to see what Moran is looking like these days, take a peek at the photograph below, taken of the actor in 2015:
