2. Ken Sagoes in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

The third A Nightmare on Elm Street movie was a rare sequel just as good in quality as the original. Heather Langenkamp reprises her role from the first movie as Nancy Thompson, once again taking on the likes of Freddy Krueger.

This time, the protagonists are fighting back. Freddy can only attack his victims when they are dreaming, as we all know. So why not take advantage of this by using “dream powers” to dish it right back to the Springwood Slasher?

One character, Roland (played by Ken Sagoes), uses the powers of super strength in his dreams. While some of the others are easily murdered even when using special dreamlike abilities against Freddy, Roland actually survived his encounter. Yes, he literally fights Freddy and comes out alive. Roland living in Dream Warriors is one of the most surprising parts about the movie, considering the major deaths of certain other characters.

It must be mentioned, though, and I hate to rain on the parade by pointing this out, but the celebration does not last for long at all. Early into the next movie, Freddy Krueger successfully murders Roland. Regardless, he was still alive at the end of Dream Warriors, which earns him a spot on this list.
