1. The director and the star had a falling out over a nude scene

Jason Goes to Hell is a pretty ridiculous film, but there was some very serious drama behind the scenes. Even more awkward, it all had to do with nudity. Things got so heated over the issue that the film’s lead actress left the shoot, refusing to be in the same room as the director again.

Here’s how the story goes. Director Adam Marcus wanted star Kari Keegan to actually be nude for a scene in the movie. According to Marcus, he had been up front about this with Keegan, and this had always been the plan. Keegan disagreed, however, saying she had never agreed to be nude, and absolutely refused to do it. This created a rift between the director and the star of the movie just days away from wrapping the film.

Things only got worse from there. For the shower scene in question, Keegan stuck to her guns and wore a flesh-colored bra. However, the water temperature was so hot, it was causing Keegan immense pain. Her agent then got involved, and at this point, Keegan and Marcus all but hated each other. Things were so hot that she wouldn’t even come back onto the set one more day if Marcus was still here.

So, to complete the film, producer Sean Cunningham had to step in and take the director’s chair away from Marcus. For the final days of filming, Cunningham would direct the last scenes they needed. Without Marcus there, Keegan came back onto the set to wrap her role in the film.
