Con: Jason TALKS in the movie, enough said

There are tons of ways this movie disgraces Jason Voorhees and his legacy, in my opinion. However, what bugs me the absolute most was the cardinal sin these guys committed by actually have Jason TALK in the movie. Say what?

So Jason is a body snatcher in this movie. Fine. But now you’ve got him talking? The straw just broke the camel’s back, I suppose. The one thing no filmmaker should ever attempt to do is make Jason Voorhees speak. But that’s what happens in Jason Goes to Hell.

Now, obviously, the moment occurs when Jason is in the body of one of his hosts. Two police officers are closing in on the heroine, Jessica Kimble, and she knows one of them is Jason. One of the officers, Ed, gets close to Jessica, another cop comes in and shouts at him, “Get the hell away from her, Ed!”

Moments later, Ed is revealed to have been the one not possessed by Jason. Which means… Jason spoke. Jason yelled at Ed, marking the very first time in the entire series the character has ever spoken. I don’t care if he’s in another body or not. I just don’t like it at all.
