Jeepers Creepers 3 premiere canceled, possible protest against director

With the third ‘Jeepers Creepers’ coming, the early premiere is now being canceled after protests against director Victor Saliva were threatened.
Jeepers Creepers 3 is creeping people out….and not in a good way.
According to HorrorFreakNews, the Jeepers Creepers franchise is still experiences hurdles. After it took over a decade to bring fans a third installment, the upcoming premiere is being canceled.
Set to take place Sept. 15 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, the anticipated film’s debut is being nixed amid threats of protest. The protesting stems from a child molestation conviction of series creator Victor Salva.
Fans planning to attend the event are being offered a full refund from Fandango. Here’s the official statement from the popular movie service:
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you that due to events beyond our control, the screening event hosted by @Moviedude18 for “Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 3” on Wednesday September 13, 2017 will no longer take place at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your party. We have worked with Fandango to refund your purchase directly. You should see the refund in your account within the next few days. We would like to offer you free passes. You may redeem them at the box office upon your next visit by showing this email or we can mail them to you if you provide us with your mailing address.

While I understand why protesters are getting involved, I’m looking forward to the film. But we want to make something very clear: What Salva did is completely disgusting. 1428 Elm in no way endorses lewd acts forced upon anyone, especially a minor. We also condemn the use, creation and distribution of child pornography and anything associated with the exploitation of another individual.
In 1988, Salva was convicted to molestation of a 12-year-old boy on the set of Clownhouse, a production directed by the filmmaker. Videotaping the encounter, police eventually found magazines and tapes containing child pornography in Salva’s home. The California based storyteller was sentenced to three years in prison but only served 15 months. Salva completed parole in 1992.
