1428: So we’ve seen it, as well as people at both its world (FrightFest) and US (Scarefest X) premieres, but a lot of horror fans haven’t. What distribution plans do you guys have set in place for the future?
AB: We’re actually in final talks with some distributors right now. We can’t really get into it now. But we’re debating on some distributors. It may go digital first, and then hit DVD and Blu-ray. Or we may do both simultaneously. We aren’t positive yet, but we’ll know in the next month or so.
DDH: We want to do right by the movie and the fans. There is a lot of human interest in it. So we want to get it in front of the most people.
1428: Great, that sounds incredible. So one last question and we’ll be done. The next feature, as you mentioned, is a narrative home-invasion film. Is there anything you can tell us about that?
AB: It’s called They’re Inside. There’s not a lot we can say about it because it’s a really unique story. But what I can say is it’s a very interesting take on a popular genre. And it’s fucking twisted. We filmed it in multiple parts over the course of six months.
We watched a cut recently and it’s dark. But it’s not just a horror film, it’s a story about two sisters revamping their relationship and revealing their dark pasts. Take away the horror, and it’s a well-written drama. But the horror elements make it terrifying.

These two…big careers in the business one day. I can tell you that. I could just tell by seeing them talk about their film.
If you’ve yet to see To Hell and Back : The Kane Hodder, there are more chances coming up. Fans in L.A can see the film on the 17th at Screamfest Horror Film Festival. That event features a Q and A with Hodder and the two crazy creators you’ve been hearing from above. And if you’re in New York, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival is showing the film on the 14th and 15th. If I were you, I’d make it to one of these — the film is stunningly artful.
To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story features horror icons Bruce Campbell, Robert Englund and Friday the 13th creator Sean Cunningham. Derek Dennis Herbert directs, with producing by Andrew Barcello, through their Masterfully Macabre label. For everything on the documentary, visit the film’s official site.
