February is only two months away but after being deprived of Ash vs Evil Dead for over a year, fans are clamoring for the return of their favorite show. Yesterday, STARZ released another pic from season 3 and we have it!

Is It February Yet?

For Ash vs Evil Dead fans, it has been a traumatic year. Rumors of cancellation plus no word on a season 4 renewal increased the tension. However, with each passing day,  the season 3 premiere on February 25, 2018 gets a little closer.

Well, thanks to TV Guide, faithful viewers get another glimpse into season 3 courtesy of STARZ. The still provided shows an SUV parked in front of the dilapidated Kenward County Sheriff’s office.

The darkness and starkness of the photo conveys an impending sense of doom and dread. It is like a Hopper painting from the mind of a madman. Just looking at it, you feel as if something wicked this way comes and you know what? You might just be right!

Every interview that came out with a cast member this summer talked about changes to come and no one is safe! This is the time for Ash’s origin story as a mythological hero. As the saying goes, s**t’s about to go down!

Welcome to the Dark Side

This season we meet new characters. Ash’s daughter, Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill) and Dalton, the hunky leader of the Knights of Sumeria (Lindsay Farris). Situations are getting crazy, Ash trying to be a father, Kelly becoming an even fiercer warrior and Pablo maximizing his new found Brujo powers.

It sounds epic and of course, 80s Ruby is playing on the side of evil. Whatever she has up her diabolical sleeve is definitely not going to be pretty. After watching the trailer, you get the sense that this is a game changing season.

At the same time, while all this sounds exhilarating and designed for the fans it also feels like there may be casualties. This season we are delving into the world of the dead. Things are about to get dark.

The World of the Dead

“The Dead World is a realm never explored in the Evil Dead franchise,” states Ray Santiago. “It is a place where all your greatest fears come to life, and force you to face what scares you most.”

This shadowy world that the Ghostbeaters inhabit is one that will present challenges. For Ash, we get a brief window where he breaks down.

In Bruce Campbell’s words, “It’s not like a permanent condition. Ash has a few glitches, that’s all. He doesn’t become a basket case. He still saves the frickin’ world but he’s going to do it in a very lumpy way, as always.”

Perhaps a harbinger to come, Santiago remarks, “In the Dead World, even Ash and the gang might be done. [It’s] a place where the choices you make determine your next destination.”
