Bruce Campbell is spending some quality time with his fans this weekend at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, Tennessee.  At his panel discussion, the actor dropped some new info on the upcoming Ash Williams game and revealed whether or not he will be onscreen in the continuation of Evil Dead.

Bruce Campbell is playing the con game this weekend at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, TN. “Kissing hands and shaking babies,” as he often says. Yesterday, fans were treated to one of his signature panel discussions.

For those followers of the actor who have never had the pleasure of seeing him in person, think of it as Bruce’s one man show. He is a master of audience interaction, which is why he is a hot commodity on the convention circuit. Guys want to be him; kids look up to him and ladies want to…get to know more about him.

At this particular event, Bruce was quite candid about the upcoming Evil Dead game and his involvement in the continuation of the franchise. Campbell was in rare form as usual, fielding questions like a pro and making his trademark snarky remarks.

One of the hot topics that has been bantered about for months is what will the Evil Dead game be like? What characters will be involved? Recently, Bruce took to Twitter and Facebook to let fans know that it won’t be Virtual Reality as he originally thought.

Instead, it will be for PC and consoles. So, when a fan asked him if the game would deal with Evil Dead or if it would be an Ash vs Evil Dead game with Kelly and Pablo included, the actor responded:

"“Just Evil Dead. It will have more of the classic components.”"

As for Kelly, Pablo or Brandy showing up, this is where the waters get murky. Bruce’s explanation:

"“I can’t really say that anymore because everything is owned by everyone now. Ash is showing up in other games because people have the rights to him in certain things. We’re trying to get a handle on some of that. It’s a very complicated world.”"

In a recent interview, Sam Raimi admitted that he, Rob Tapert and Bruce are looking at making another Evil Dead. He teased a timeline of six months.

What everyone is dying to know is will Bruce be reprising his role of Ash? Unfortunately, it isn’t going to work out the way that people would like it to.

Campbell won’t be appearing on camera. Instead, he will be active behind the scenes. Here is what he had to say on the subject:

"“I’ll be a producer all day long. Find those new actors. They don’t have to be called Ash. We should have a funny Evil Dead and a serious one. As a matter of fact, we are working on them now.”"

Honestly, I can’t say I blame him for not wanting to come back to the role that started his career. He is in a different place in his life, not to mention the fact he is a 61-year-old man now. Like he said, “Time to get out of the mud and blood.”
