Turn Shark Week into Shark Month with the upcoming 47 Meters Down sequel. We’ve got a brand new trailer and reasons for you to get excited about the film.

The first 47 Meters Down film starred Mandy Moore and Claire Holt in an anxiety-inducing thriller about two sisters stuck in a cage on the bottom of the ocean. With their oxygen levels running low, the sisters were forced to use all their wits to find a way out before the circling sharks made a meal of them.

This summer, the sequel hits theaters, and this time it will focus on four teenage girls diving in the seemingly magical ruins of an underwater city. But their fun is cut short when they discover they’re not alone in the abyss. How will they get out of the dark labyrinth with a horde of deadly sharks following their every move?

3. More shark action.

The first film only featured two main characters, with four leads this time, that automatically means there is double the amount of potential fatalities. It may seem like a grim notion to walk into a movie with, but why else do we watch shark attack films?

We all want some human chum in the waters. Plus, unlike the first movie where there was only one main shark, this one appears to have several of them roaming around in the darkness.

2. More adventure.

Instead of having our leads quarantined in a cage on the ocean floor, they’ll be exploring the forgotten ruins of an abandoned city beneath the sea. 47 Meters Down did its principal photography at the Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, based on the trailer, the locale should be stunning to look at it.

With a better location setting and more intriguing exploration, the sequel should be brimming with intense new adventures.

1. One word: Claustrophobia.

I, for one, have intense claustrophobia. Even getting on an elevator is a torturous experience for me. I can’t imagine being stuck in close-knit underwater caverns with no clue which way is out while being observed by sharks.

That alone is enough to give me the chills, and this film predicates itself on being full of those close-call, anxiety-inducing, nail-biting moments.
