When worlds collide: Kane Hodder wants to play Michael Myers?
Kane Hodder, who is forever intertwined with the Friday the 13th franchise and the iconic slasher hero, Jason Voorhees confessed that he always wanted to play Michael Myers. It’s true!
Kane Hodder played everyone’s favorite slasher, Jason Voorhees on film from 1988 to 2001. Whenever his name comes up in conversation, fans immediately cite Camp Crystal Lake’s favorite son. The hockey masked killer is his most recognizable character just like Robert Englund’s is Freddy Krueger.
On top of the iconic Friday the 13th franchise, the actor has appeared in so many films and television shows. His resume is extremely well-rounded. Not to mention the fact that he is a legend in the world of stunts.
So, you would think being in the entertainment industry for decades, there wouldn’t be too many roles that he hasn’t played, right? Many actors have their dream parts. For some, it might be Hamlet on stage and others might want to star in the next big blockbuster action flick.
As it turns out, Hodder is no exception. In fact, there is a particular character that he has his eye on. According to Comic Book, Kane has always wanted to play Michael Myers! Yes, it’s true. While as he says, “Jason is his first love,” he can’t help but wonder what it would be like to don the William Shatner mask.

Honestly, we didn’t see that one coming! Now, we were aware of Adam Green’s hysterical short, Driving Lessons, from 2012. In it, Kane finally gets to sort of play Michael. If you haven’t seen it, you can find it on the director’s You Tube channel, ArieScope.
The film is actually quite brilliant because the way that it is edited together, it looks like the footage was taken right from the original Halloween. Of course, the premise deals with the idea of a driving instructor giving Myers lessons on how to operate a vehicle.
Perhaps someday, some enterprising filmmaker might figure out a way for the actor to have his dream come true. Until then, Hodder is shooting The Good Things Devils Do starring Linnea Quigley and Bill Oberst, Jr. Look for the feature to be released on Oct. 31.
