James Wan’s mysterious horror project keeps adding names to its cast. The latest one is Supernatural star, Jake Abel.

Fear not, James Wan fans, the director hasn’t left horror behind, nor has he forgotten his roots. He has been busy in the world of superheroes with DC’s Aquaman. The last horror film he directed was The Conjuring 2 in 2016.

He’s now working on a new project that will take him back to the realm of indie horror. The cast for this still-untitled film is slowly but surely growing. The latest addition, Jake Abel, is best known as Adam on The CW’s long-running series, Supernatural.

Secrecy is every filmmaker’s best friend lately. No matter the project’s size, they will keep every detail a secret until the first trailer comes out (if lucky) or sometimes not even then. Wan is keeping all aspects of this new film under wraps. At least the names of those who have joined the cast have been shared.

Deadline reports Abel’s casting in James Wan’s upcoming film. Other cast members include Annabelle Wallis and George Young. Wan and Ingrid Bisu will write the movie. It is being financed through Starlight Media and Midas Innovation. Midas Innovation will be in charge of distribution in China, with New Line handling the rest of the world.

Again, there are no details on Abel’s character, but we can take a look at his previous works to get an idea of what we’re going to see from him. He played Luke Castellan in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and again in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. He also appeared in I Am Number Four, The Host, Love and Mercy, and has a movie coming up this year titled An Affair to Die For.

He also appeared in several episodes of Supernatural and is set to return in season fifteen,so he’s no stranger to dark stories.

The only “hints” we have on Wan’s project are some pics he shared on social media while on location scouting and that the tentative title is Silvercup. Let that imagination go wild and let the theories begin! Although no matter what we come up with, he will surely surprise us with something that never even crossed our minds.

There is no projected release date for this film yet, but among Wan’s upcoming projects are The Conjuring 3, The Organ Donor, Mortal Kombat, Aquaman 2, and There’s Someone Inside Your House. He is a busy, busy man.
