The Purge: The 4 most intense moments from Season 2, Episode 5

Tonight’s episode of The Purge creates discord with every character on the series as their respective problems become even more dangerous. Ben can’t control his urges. Ryan’s crew gets into hot water. A secret about Esme is revealed and we might finally know who tried to purge Marcus.
Before we get into the survivor stories, the episode begins with an intriguing cold open. We see two sisters planning a vacation to America on purge night. I’ve always been curious about how other countries feel about the purge. Many international folks like the idea of visiting during that time. The girl in the intro even wants to go as a bachelorette party. Little does she know that her sister is planning to murder her there. It’s a chilling beginning to the latest installment.
With so many things happening at once, it can be hard to keep track. We’re going to take a closer look at some of the most brutal reveals and intense scenes from tonight’s episode, “House of Mirrors.”

4. Ben kills his newest friend.
Remember last week when Ben met a new pal, Andy, who shared similar views on the purge? Well, their kinship doesn’t last long. He doesn’t even live until the end of Episode 5.
“House of Mirrors” begins with Andy and Ben on a double date. It doesn’t go well. Andy freaks out his date by obsessing over the purge. When Andy and Ben regroup later, they do so over drinks. They get to talking about how the purge and Ben wonders why they should only do it one night a year.
At first, Andy is in total agreement. But then Ben confesses to killing the farmer on the news. Apparently, Andy is all bark and no bite as his entire vibe changes. He instantly begins to look at Ben differently and appears genuinely freaked out.
Ben tries to backtrack. It’s too late, the damage is done. Andy makes an excuse to leave and Ben snaps, brutally stabbing him multiple times from Andy’s own collection of weapons. Someone pulls a fire alarm and causes a mass evacuation. Problem is, Ben left his phone in Andy’s dorm room
When he gets back in to retrieve it, the body is gone. Andy’s corpse is discovered in the elevator when everyone returns. That means the entire university is now aware that there is a murderer on campus! It remains to be seen what happened to the girl Ben was stalking at the end of last week’s episode.
