I See You, Truth Be Told, 8 horror movies and TV shows you can’t miss this December

It’s the jolliest time of year but that doesn’t mean horror fans have to pack it in! There are still some great new shows and films to come this month.
Between hanging up the tinsel, baking cookies, and wrapping gifts you should try and squeeze in some time to enjoy the latest in horror television and film this holly jolly month of December! While most streaming services are offering holiday content, Netflix has several thrilling new shows on the horizon for horror fans.
The Witcher is an upcoming dark fantasy series based on the popular book series. Early reviews for the series are already raving that the show makes Game of Thrones “look awful.” Ian Somerhalder returns to the world of vampires in a new thriller, V-Wars. Plus, Penn Badgley will stalk people once again in the second season of psychological thriller, You.
If you like holiday horror, then don’t miss out on FX’s upcoming reimagining of A Christmas Carol. Read on to find out what else is coming to a TV screen (or theater) near you this month!
You: Season 2

- Release Date: December 26 on Netflix
Season 2 of the popular psychological thriller, You, returns the day after Christmas at its new home on Netflix. The second season sees Penn Badgeley’s creepy murderous stalker, Joe, on a trip to Los Angeles.
While there, he’ll meet the next object of his affection in an aspiring chef named Love Quinn (played by Haunting of Hill House‘s Victoria Pedretti). Season 2 of You will be loosely based on the book Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes.
Truth Be Told: Season 1

- Release Date: First 3 episodes on December 6 on Apple TV+
Castle Rock star Lizzy Caplan will tackle the complicated task of portraying twins in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told. The series will be based on the book of the same name written by Kathleen Barber. It follows the story of twins Lanie and Josie Buhrman, whose father, Chuck Buhrman, was murdered years earlier by a troublemaking teenager named Warren Cave — or so they say.
But then comes Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer) a self-proclaimed investigative journalist who believes there is more to the story. She starts a podcast in the vein of Serial that threatens to change everything for every party involved.
I See You (2019)

Starring: Helen Hunt, Jon Tenney, Judah Lewis, and Owen Teague - Release Date: In theaters on December 6
Helen Hunt stars as Jackie Harper, a woman struggling to keep her family together amidst marital strife. But everything gets increasingly difficult to deal with when it is discovered that a 9-year-old boy has gone missing and the Harper family could be involved in ways they never imagined.
I See You has been praised by several publications as being full of shocking twists. Don’t believe everything you see while watching this creepy new crime thriller.
