Facebook Watch had a decent year with the debut of two new horror shows on its streaming platform. The first of the bunch, The Birch, is a Crypt TV production.
If you’re at all familiar with their company, you may have seen some of their short films and YouTube videos about the various monsters in the Crypt TV universe. They brought the short film The Birch to life in a brand-new way this year.
The series followed three different teenagers whose lives all become entangled with the terrifying forest-dwelling creature known as The Birch. As en entity, The Birch can be both benevolent and malevolent, depending on how one approaches her.
9. Limetown
Limetown is another Facebook Watch series that premiered this year. The show is based on the popular podcast of the same name. Jessica Biel stars as an obsessive investigative radio show host deeply immersed in the mystery of the Limetown disappearance.
More than 300 people seemingly vanished into thin air one day after taking part in a top-secret experiment in Limetown. The deeper Lia dives into the mystery, the more dark and gruesome discoveries she finds. The show was slow-moving but ultimately paid off with several shocking surprises by the season’s end.
