Black Christmas is finally releasing on DVD and Blu-ray. The home video will feature an alternate ending, commentary, and more!

Blumhouse produced another Black Christmas remake at the end of last year. It received poor reviews from audiences and critics, but every movie has at least a few fans. For those who are looking forward to owning their own copy of the holiday-themed slasher, you won’t have to wait much longer.

The movie will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 17, 2020. It’s not yet clear when it will come out digitally, but it will likely be about two weeks before the physical release date. You can already pre-order the movie on Amazon.

It might excite fans to know that the movie will feature an alternate ending to the polarizing one shown in the theatrical version. Other extras include a full-length feature commentary with star Imogen Poots and director Sophia Takal.

The following list details everything else included with the DVD and Blu-ray:

  • A digital copy of the movie (Blu-ray only)
  • Deleted and Extended Scenes
  • You Messed with the Wrong Sisters featurette
  • The (Re)Making of a Cult Classic featurette
  • Welcome to Mu Kappa Epsilon featurette

For those unfamiliar with Black Christmas, the movie is a remake of the original 1974 Canadian slasher film that inspired Halloween. This is the second remake as there was also a new version made in 2006 titled Black X-Mas.

The story follows a group of sorority girls attending Hawthorne College who become the targets of a cloaked figure intent on murdering all of them.
