3. Norma Bates

While Norma Bates is an iconic character from the slasher film, Psycho, Vera Farmiga breathed new life into her when she got the chance to portray the character for five seasons on the A+E series, Bates Motel.

Speaking of underrated performances like Eva Green’s, it’s also a terrible shame that Farmiga never won any major awards for her performance as Norma Bates despite blowing everyone away repeatedly throughout the show’s run.

She and Freddie Highmore were truly a dynamic duo as Norma and Norman Bates. If you watch the show, it will come as no surprise why she was cast as Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring films.

2. Michonne

While Danai Gurira will officially be moving on from The Walking Dead universe soon, we have to give her credit where it’s due for being such a sensational character on the series for so long.

When she was first introduced back in the second season, it became obvious that she would be a real force to be reckoned with. The katana-wielding fighter has seen it all and yet come out the other side even stronger for it. The show definitely won’t be the same without her.

1. Buffy Summers

It would be impossible to make a list like this one and fail to include the vampire slayer, Buffy Summers. Sarah Michelle Gellar will remain an icon and legend in the world of pop culture for her incredible turn as Buffy from the Joss Whedon series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

At the end of the day, sometimes all you want is to watch a girl kill vampires, demons, and a myriad of other deadly creatures while still debating on whether or not she wants to go to prom. Not only that, but Buffy is still considered one of the best horror shows ever made.

It paved the way for a new generation of teen horror series. Without Buffy, it’s hard to imagine we would have ever seen series like Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and many others.
