The Hunger, It Follows and Cat People are three films that prove horror can be sexy as well as terrifying. What other hot productions made our cut?

The Hunger, It Follows and Cat People readily spring to mind when we think of horror films that have an undercurrent of sexiness to them. The chemistry between the characters ignites the screen with passion but at the same time, you can be scared beyond all reason.

Here are 10 of our favorite hot flicks that will definitely make you want to stay up all night and binge!

The Hunger (1983)

Vampire Miriam (played by the personification of the cool, sophisticated blonde, Catherine Deneuve) is about to lose her lover of 300 years. Even though John (David Bowie) is a creature of the night just like her, his life expectancy isn’t as long.

Desperate to remain with his companion, John seeks help from a young and beautiful gerontologist named Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon). However, she does not succeed in extending his time on earth.

Now, Miriam who has become smitten with the beguiling scientist, sets out to “turn” her. The result is a stylish and sexy adaptation of the familiar vampire trope from the late, Tony Scott.

You have been warned, the chemistry between Denueve and Sarandon is palpable. The Hunger is definitely “en fuego.”

It Follows (2014)

Jay Height (Maika Monroe) has an encounter with a boy named Hugh in the backseat of his car. What should be normal for a teenager suddenly becomes creepy and life threatening when he informs her that a shapeshifting being is after him. The only way that she can rid herself of this curse is to sleep with someone else.

Now, Jay is being plagued by disturbing visions and the sense that something is following her. Its intent is definitely malicious. Should Jay pass this on to another soul or should she and her friends fight this unseen entity?

Cat People (1982)

Paul Schrader’s take on the Jacques Tourneur film about a young woman named Irena (Nastassja Kinski) who is stricken with a curse is not for the faint of heart. Whenever she feels sexually aroused, she transforms into a black leopard.

Her brother Paul (Malcolm McDowell) also suffers from the same affliction. There is a weird dynamic between the two because although they are siblings, there is this tension between them. Both are able to give into their urges without harming anyone if they are intimate with one another.

Irena totally rejects this idea. Instead, she finds herself becoming enamored with her attractive colleague, Oliver Yates (John Heard). The pair consummate their relationship only to find that she becomes a murderous feline.

When he discovers her secret, Irena begs him to end her life which he refuses to do. Instead, she asks him to make love to her again so that she can “live with her own kind.” He complies and, in the end, she is trapped forever as a black leopard.

At the time this film was released, Kinski was a model and a sex symbol known for her provocative nude poster with a python. The scenes between her and Heard could light the screen on fire.

Videodrome (1983)

David Cronenberg is very adept at combining sex and horror. In this 1983 effort, James Woods and Debbie Harry team up. Oddly enough, they definitely have an attraction between them.

Max Renn (Woods) is the President of a small television station that predominantly showcases porn and violent films. He gets introduced to a Malaysian snuff show called Videodrome which he immediately pirates and starts airing on his channel.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Nikki Brand (Debbie Harry) who is a psychiatrist watches an episode with him and gets turned on. The pair give in to nature and make love while the show plays in the background.

Unfortunately, there are peculiar side effects with repeat viewings of this odd program. Some might result in death.

Black Swan (2010)

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis together as lovers? Enough said. Black Swan is a terrifying psychological thriller of what happens when ambition gets out of control.

Nina Sayers (Portman) is full of promise. A bit on the shy side, she is extremely focused and intense when it comes to being a ballet dancer. She wants to play the Swan Queen in her dance troupe’s upcoming performance of Swan Lake.

However, her personality and lack of sensuality is standing in her way. She is definitely able to play the White Swan but she must inhabit the Black Swan as well if she hopes to obtain the lead role.

Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) is the head of the dance troupe who has a penchant for seducing his dancers. He starts to fancy Nina but is conversely her harshest critic and taskmaster.

He attempts to seduce her but does not succeed. Instead, Nina is driven into the arms of her fellow dancer and rival for her part, Lily (Kunis). What results is a highly charged encounter that will definitely get most viewers’ blood pressure rising.

Things continue to spiral out of control for Nina until she isn’t certain of what is real or unreal. In the end, she gives the performance of her life…
