Bruce Campbell makes his debut as Chef in the Netflix animated series, The Last Kids on Earth on Apr. 17. Get ready to return to Wakefield!

Bruce Campbell will finally be making his debut in the post-apocalyptic animated Netflix series, The Last Kids on Earth on Apr. 17. Fans of the actor will enjoy listening to his dulcet tones for several episodes.

The show is based on Max Brallier’s bestselling series of dystopian books about a band of teenagers led by Jack Sullivan (Nick Wolfhard) who fight off zombies and monsters throughout their hometown of Wakefield. Jack is joined by his best friend, science whiz Quint (Garland Whitt), Dirk, the former school bully, (Charles Demers) and June (Montse Hernandez), his crush.

In Season 1, which aired in Sept., we met the kids one by one on their own turf. Meanwhile, when they weren’t playing video games and eating snacks in their Zombie proof tree house, they were trying to dodge various monsters.

Last year, when Collider spoke with Brallier about the world of Wakefield, the author talked about the plethora of celebrities that he was fortunate enough to have sign on to the project. Max revealed that he created the character of Chef expressly for Bruce Campbell because of his love for the Evil Dead films.

We have no idea if the actor will be voicing a monster, zombie or human. It will be fun to find out!

Rounding out the cast will be Mark Hamill, who is on board to play one of the monsters named Bardle. Veteran actor Keith David will be portraying Thrull who we caught a glimpse of at the end of Season 1.

Catherine O’Hara, the insanely talented actress from SCTV, Home Alone, Beetlejuice and the hit series, Schitt’s Creek, is Skaelka. Her character appears infrequently in the books but she will definitely be getting more face time in the series. Keep your eyes peeled for Rosario Dawson as well.
