LX 2048 is the story of Adam Bird, a man living on borrowed time. When he discovers that he will be replaced after his death by a replica, he goes on a quest to try and save his very existence.

LX 2048 paints a terrifying picture of our future. When the ozone layer is depleted, people can no longer walk outside without a protective suit.

Forced to live like vampires, in constant darkness, most of the world’s population exists in a virtual world except for Adam Bird (James D’Arcy). He chooses to live a normal life, going to work in an office building each and every day.

His wife, Reena (Anna Brewster) and his three children are content in their augmented reality. They take their government issued 001LithiumX pills and exist solely in a matrix.

Adam does his best to function on a daily basis but that becomes impossible when he is diagnosed with heart failure. Since he is not eligible for a transplant, his government insurance plan schedules him for an “upgrade” upon his death. Of course, this is a euphemism for being replaced by a clone.

Desperate for his memory to be preserved and not to have his entire existence erased, Adam risks everything by trying to find a solution before it’s too late.

Directed by Guy Moshe, LX 2048 features Delroy Lindo and Gina McKee. This film marks Moshe’s North American debut. He is known for Holly starring Ron Livingston and the action filled Bunraku with Demi Moore, Josh Hartnett and Woody Harrelson.
