Trailer drops for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
By Carla Davis
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It will be premiering on June 4, and the trailer just dropped! It looks to be more of everything we loved from the first two films, so that’s great news for fans.
If you haven’t seen the trailer for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, scroll on down to the bottom of this piece and watch it, then come back up here to discuss.
First of all, let’s talk about the cast! Of course, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are back as the most loving, supportive couple in all of ghost hunting history, Ed and Lorraine Warren. Judging by this trailer, Lorraine’s psychic abilities are still putting her in grave danger, as she is nearly pulled off a cliff by a demonic hand. Of course, Ed is there to save her, but that was a close call!
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is based on the true story of Arne Cheyenne Johnson
The opening of the trailer shows us Ruairi O’Connor as Arne Johnson, who later claimed that a demon had jumped from within a young boy, and right into his own body. He looks appropriately dazed and confused, plus he’s covered in blood, so we know something bad has happened.
And there’s little Julian Hilliard (young Luke in The Haunting of Hill House, and Billy in WandaVision) as the possessed boy, David. He has a terrifying close encounter with something that is inside a waterbed, and is later terrorized as he huddles in a bathtub.
There are always lots of great special effects and jump scares in a Conjuring film, and judging by the new trailer, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It appears to have plenty of both. Count me in, and I think I will even see this one in a theater!
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It opens in theaters on June 4.
The film will also simultaneously be available to stream on HBO Max.
