Another weekend is upon us, and that means it’s time to break down some of the best horror movies to watch at home, on streaming, VOD, or in theaters! Since it is the first of a new month, there are even more best horror movies to watch than usual as streaming services traditionally add lots of new films at the beginning of each month. From a Nightmare on Elm Street collection to The Green Knight, here are 18 of the best horror movies to watch this weekend, July 30-August 1.
Also, there are some great horror television shows for those who would rather settle in for a binge-watch. The first four episodes of American Horror Stories are now available on Hulu and a new episode of SurrealEstate airs this evening on SYFY.
The Green Knight (2021)

An epic medieval fantasy and dark retelling of the classic Arthurian legend, The Green Knight follows Sir Gawain (Patel), King Arthur’s nephew as he embarks on a quest to confront the fabled Green Knight, a giant that makes its presence known in Camelot. The name comes from the being, which looks like a massive, tree-like monstrosity.
Masquerade (2021)

- Starring: Bella Thorne, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Meg Tilly, and Skyler Samuels
This home invasion thriller stars Bella Thorne as Rose, a twisted opportunist who breaks into a house in pursuit of a priceless collection of artwork alongside her friends. But inside the house is an 11-year-old girl left alone who winds up in a fight for her life against the intruders.
The Resort (2021)
