Fear Street trilogy

If you missed out on the Fear Street trilogy this past summer, now is a great time to catch up! Based on the popular R.L. Stine book series, the Fear Street films are a much gorier, R-rated version of the story told across three films and three decades. These films are definitely among the best slasher movies on Netflix.

The first feature takes place in the 1990s, followed by a 1980s movie and then the whole thing is capped off with a movie set way back in 1666. The trilogy has an overarching storyline, but each one is a slasher flick with compelling characters, genuine scares, and lots of blood.

Hush

From director Mike Flanagan, Hush is a unique and extremely suspenseful slasher film starring Kate Siegel as a deaf writer who lives alone in the woods. Things take a turn for the worse when a masked killer appears in her window and forces her to fight for her life.

Slasher

While not a movie, Slasher is a horror anthology where every season focuses on a horrifying and gruesome tale of people being stalked and viciously killed by a slasher. The show’s first three seasons are available on Netflix, and the fourth season is currently on Shudder. If you’re looking for something that will last you longer, Slasher is a great choice.

If you want another television show with slasher elements, check out MTV’s Scream television show, as all three seasons are streaming on Netflix, too.
