Stranger Things season 4 is not coming out in 2021

It has been more than two years since we’ve gotten a new season of Stranger Things. The drought will continue because it’s not returning in 2021. When will the new season finally be released, and what can we expect from the show when it does?

The last time that we saw our favorite characters—including Mike, Will, Jonathan, Max, Robin, Erica, Steve, Nancy, Lucas, Dustin, Joyce, Hopper, and, of course, Eleven, they weren’t doing so well. Billy Hargrove was killed by the latest monstrosities birthed from the Upside Down, Eleven lost her powers, Hopper died, and the Byers (and Eleven) were preparing to move away from Hawkins, Indiana once and for all.

So, what’s next? Well, for one thing, we know that Hopper at least is not dead. That has already been significantly spoiled by all the teasers and hints about the show’s fourth season. Plus, the post-credits scene in season 3 hinted at Hopper surviving.

When is Stranger Things season 4 coming out?

Since today is Stranger Things Day, Netflix has revealed a lot more content regarding the fourth season, including a new teaser and the fourth season’s episode titles. But they still haven’t given us an exact release date.

That said, the latest video shared by the official show Twitter account tells us that the next season will come out in the summer of 2022. That means we will not see Stranger Things season 4 in 2021. Many fans were hopeful that it would be released by Christmas, but that isn’t happening.

At least we have the episode titles for what will be another nine-episode installment of the blockbuster series. Interestingly, one episode is called “Dear Billy,” which has fans in a frenzy as they wonder if Dacre Montgomery will return to reprise his role as Billy Hargrove. Right now, it’s hard to say, but if Hopper is actually alive, it could be that Billy somehow survived, too.
