Chucky episode 6: First look at Andy Barclay and Kyle’s return

Chucky episode 6 promises to be another epic installment in the horror series as two major characters from the franchise return. SYFY has released new photos showing Alex Vincent and Christine Elise reprising their roles as Andy Barclay and his foster sister Kyle.

For those watching Chucky as it airs, last week marked the highly-anticipated return of characters Tiffany Valentine (Jennifer Tilly) and Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif), but next week promises not only more Tiffany and Nica but also the epic return of Andy and Kyle.

Technically a direct sequel to the 2017 film Cult of Chucky, Chucky season 1 spent most of its first half setting up the new characters like Jake, Lexy, Junior and Devon. The latter half of the season looks to be more focused on plot points from the 2017 flick, legacy characters and how the new and old storylines will intertwine.

Here’s a quick refresher on Andy and Kyle before they come back next week in Chucky episode 6, “Cape Queer.”

Chucky episode 6: Who is Andy Barclay?

Alex Vincent originated the role of Andy Barclay in the first Child’s Play film in 1988. Six-year-old Andy was the first owner of the Charles Lee Ray-possessed Good Guy doll who committed a string of murders that Andy was quickly blamed for. Andy appeared in most of the movies or was at least referenced in those he did not appear in.

Justin Whalen took over the role in Child’s Play 3, but Vincent has played Andy in all of the other films and will return for the show. Technically, Vincent already appeared on the Chucky television series in one of the early episodes. He was the voice on the other end of the phone inquiring into the Good Guy doll when Jake tried to sell it online.

The last time we saw Andy, he had just escaped a psychiatric facility after committing himself to try and kill Chucky. He is also aware that Nica is possessed by Chucky and tried to kill her but failed.

Chucky episode 6: Who is Kyle?

Kyle was first introduced in Child’s Play 2 and then returned in Cult of Chucky after it was revealed that she and Andy had kept in touch over the years. She is seen torturing the Chucky head that Andy has kept in his cabin. It’s not clear yet what her role will be in the new series.
