Marvel Zombies spinoff series coming soon to Disney+
By Mads Lennon
During the Disney+ Day celebration, Disney announced that a Marvel Zombies spinoff series was in the works after the success of the What If…? episode. The concept of a universe where some of the most popular Marvel characters become zombies was used in the recent animated series What If…? and something fans had been eager to see on-screen since the popular comic book arc.
Marvel Studios officially announced that an animated Marvel Zombies show is in the works at Disney+. The Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon and today’s Disney+ Day proved that as the streamer unveiled a full slate of new television shows and teasers for formerly-announced projects.
Given the success of What If…?, Disney+ is also creating more animated projects to fit into the universe, including Marvel Zombies, an X-Men series and a new animated Spider-Man show.
Marvel Zombies synopsis
When What If…? released this past summer, the series explored many multiverse possibilities such as T’Challa becoming Star-Lord and Peggy Carter picking up the Captain Carter mantle. But perhaps the most anticipated segment was the Marvel Zombies episode, based on Robert Kirkman’s (The Walking Dead) 2005 miniseries of the same name. The newly released logo looks identical to Kirkman’s series. At this time, we don’t have any other plot details to offer.
You can take a look at the newly-released logo art/title treatment for the show right here.

Marvel Zombies release date
Apart from releasing the logo and announcing that the new show is in development, Disney has not given us any kind of release date window for the animated spinoff show. That said, they did announce that What If…? season 2 is happening, which should excite fans who are really enjoying all of the new animated content coming out in the MCU and on the streaming service in general.
