The Chucky TV series has proven to be one of the biggest successes of 2021 and a surprise hit in terms of viewership for SYFY. Functioning as both a soft reboot of the popular Child’s Play movies franchise, the new series has been a genuine delight to watch. Luckily for fans, it also received a season 2 renewal, not all that surprising considering the popularity and acclaim.

Part of what made season 1 so great was the introduction of new characters alongside returning favorites. Carina Battrick is the charming young actress who portrayed Caroline Cross on the show. Caroline is Lexy’s little sister who forms a unique bond with the psychopathic doll early on in the show.

1428 Elm was lucky enough to chat with Carina about her work on the show, her favorite part of the series and what it’s really like to work with Chucky!

1428 ELM: What was your favorite part about working on Chucky season 1?

CARINA BATTRICK: My favorite part of working on Chucky was getting to meet and work with the world’s most famous doll. I loved the friendship we shared. It was very cool to be able to have such a dangerous fiend and not to be afraid of him.

1428 ELM: Did you ever get scared when you had to hold or play with the Good Guy doll?

CARINA BATTRICK: No, I was never scared of the doll as we had a very special bond. Watching the movie magic being made and seeing Chucky come to life was absolutely amazing.

1428 ELM: What was your experience working with your co-stars, including your on-screen sister Alyvia and mom Barbara Alyn Lind?

CARINA BATTRICK: I love working with new people, it is actually one of my favorite parts of acting. It was the first time I got to work with a real-life family.

1428 ELM: Do you want to come back for season 2?

CARINA BATTRICK: I would love to see my friend Chucky again. I really miss playing video games with him. It was one of my favorite scenes.

1428 ELM: Are you a fan of scary movies and TV shows?

CARINA BATTRICK: I love horror movies. Halloween is actually my favorite holiday. My little sister and I are always searching for cool new horror shows on tv.

1428 ELM: Were you allowed to watch the Chucky movies?

CARINA BATTRICK: No, I was not allowed to watch them. My parents told me I have to be older.

1428 ELM: Are there any actors you hope to work with more in the second season?

CARINA BATTRICK: The amazing Jennifer Tilly. I only had 1 scene with her and she was so fun. Also Chucky’s original friend Andy, I never got to meet him.

1428 ELM: You’ve got a new movie coming out with Sarah Drew, what can you tell us about that?

CARINA BATTRICK: I can’t tell much at this time other than it is based on a true story. I also got to travel to Greece for parts of it and my real-life sister plays my sister in the movie.
