20 new and returning horror shows to watch out for in 2022
Returning horror shows: Chucky
Given its significant success it comes as no surprise that SYFY’s television sequel/soft reboot of the Child’s Play films has been renewed for a second season. The early renewal was confirmed by the Chucky Twitter account before the first season had ended.
Chucky will return to SYFY in late 2022.
New horror shows: Interview With The Vampire
AMC’s Interview With The Vampire is set to be the first in a number of TV shows based on Anne Rice’s novels, with AMC also acquiring the rights to other books in both The Vampire Chronicles and the companion series The Mayfair Witches.
The TV show will follow vampire aristocrat Louis de Pointe du Lac in a story that will be similar to the 1994 film, also based on Rice’s novel, but with some significant changes. Fans will be happy to note that these changes were okayed by Rice prior to her death.
Interview With The Vampire is expected to release on AMC in mid-late 2022.
Returning horror shows: The Walking Dead
The 11th and final season of The Walking Dead was announced way back in 2020. The season has been split into three parts with part one airing in 2021 and the second and third parts coming in 2022. The main focus of the new season will be the continuing tensions between the different groups of survivors.
The Walking Dead season 11 part two will return to AMC on February 20th, with every episode being available a week early to AMC+ subscribers.
New horror shows: The Midnight Club
The Midnight Club is the newest collaboration between Mike Flanagan and Netflix. Based on the YA novel of the same name the series will tell the story of a group of terminally ill patients at the Rotterdam hospice who meet at midnight and tell each other scary stories. The group then decides to make a pact that whoever dies first will do their best to communicate with the others from beyond the grave
All episodes of The Midnight Club will release on Netflix in 2022.
