The Syfy/USA series Chucky will be returning for a second season this year, and fan favorite Jennifer Tilly will be part of it.

Chucky was a big hit last year when it made its October premier on Syfy and USA Network as one of the highest-rated cable premieres of the year. In November, a second season was announced, and now comes the good news about Tilly, who plays Tiffany Valentine.

The series takes over where the seventh Child’s Play film, Cult of Chucky, left off. In it, a teenager named Jake comes across a vintage Good Guy doll at a yard sale. Though he intends to use it as part of an art project, he gets more than he bargained for when he finds out the true nature of the possessed doll. Just like that, serial killer Charles Lee Ray is back, still in the body of that red-haired Good Guy.

As the body count grows, viewers were given back flashes of Charles Lee Ray’s history, including his first meeting with Tiffany.

The series brought back many of the original Child’s Play actors, including Brad Dourif (the voice of the title character), Alex Vincent (Andy), Fiona Dourif (Nica) and Christine Elise McCarthy (Kyle).

Jennifer Tilly first joined the Child’s Play franchise in 1998 with Bride of Chucky, then returned for both Seed of Chucky and Cult of Chucky. Fans were delighted with her return to the series, and are no doubt equally delighted with her addition to the season two cast. Also delighted? Tilly herself, judging by the giddy video (titled “Sharing is Caring”) she tweeted on March 26.

Although there has been no date released as of yet, Chucky is slated to return in the fall of 2022.

The first season made its debut on October 12 of last year, which is the perfect time for a horror series to begin. It would just make sense for season two to also premier in the same month as Halloween.

The first season is currently available to stream on Peacock. If you are not currently a subscriber, visit the website, where you can choose from three different plans.
