In Pursuit with John Walsh returns to ID for fourth season
By Carla Davis
In Pursuit with John Walsh will be returning to ID for its fourth season this month, and as an added bonus, there will be a one-hour special airing after the first episode. Another one-hour special will air after the second week’s episode.
John Walsh’s mission in life is to bring fugitives to karmic justice and to locate missing children, which is a cause dear to his heart. As most true crime followers know, Walsh lost his six-year-old son Adam in 1981. The boy was kidnapped, and his severed head was found in a Florida drainage canal two weeks later.
The fourth season of the ID series consists of 12 episodes, each featuring Walsh and his son Callahan as they present unsolved violent crimes, asking their viewers to help wrap up the cases. Each hour of the series also features two missing children, along with details and sometimes even age progression photos in an effort to help find them.
The new season of In Pursuit with John Walsh will begin airing on ID Wednesday, August 24 at 9:00 p. m. ET, and In Pursuit with John Walsh: Hot on the Trail will follow at 10:00 ET. For Hot on the Trail, the Walshs will focus on particular cases, giving real-time updates. They will also talk about their family’s mission in detail while being moderated by special correspondent Michelle Sigona. Several experts who are involved with the cases will review the results from the first three seasons of the series.
President of Crime and Investigative Content for ID, Jason Sarlanis said that ID is “excited to introduce audiences” to the special, which he describes as “an extension of In Pursuit that offers real-time updates and intimate interviews” with the people who are the most heavily involved in the featured cases.
Following the second episode airing on August 31 will be In Pursuit with John Walsh: Captured.
This one-hour ID special features the Walshs celebrating some of the 37 criminals who have been captured after being featured on In Pursuit.
The special will begin with a review of the investigation of Luis Frias, who was alleged to have killed his girlfriend in front of their children. After Frias was featured on an episode of In Pursuit, an anonymous viewer called in a tip, and the killer was captured in Mexico.
All episodes of In Pursuit with John Walsh will air the same day on discovery+, so if you can’t watch on ID, your discovery+ subscription will allow you to stream the show at your convenience.
