ID tells the dark stories behind the bunny ears with The Playboy Murders
By Carla Davis
ID is bringing us another fascinating true crime series with the upcoming The Playboy Murders. Executive produced and hosted by former Playboy Bunny Holly Madison, this six-part series will explore several tragic stories involving the dangers of being part of Hugh Hefner’s inner circle.
Jason Sarlanis, President of Crime and Investigative Content for ID, says The Playboy Murders will give “first-person insight far beyond the glamour of the magazine into the dark side of the iconic Bunny ears.”
The first episode will air on ID Monday, January 23rd at 10:00 p.m. ET, and stream on discovery+ the same day. Titled Bunny Meets Bachelor, the episode will tell the tragic story of Jasmine Fiore.
Fiore was a Playboy party hostess, who met real estate investor Ryan Jenkins at a Vegas casino shortly after he completed his stint on a reality show called Megan Wants a Millionaire. Just a few days later, Jasmine and Ryan were married, and thus began a volitile relationship.
The Playboy Murders tells us how love led to murder
Three months after their wedding, Jenkins was charged with domestic violence after hitting Jasmine in the arm, causing her to fall in a pool. The two reconciled in August, and took a trip to San Diego, and on August 19, 2009, Jasmine’s mutilated body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase that had been thrown into a dumpster.
Later episodes will explore the case of Stacy Arthur, who was a 1991 Playmate of the month and worked for Playboy’s 1-900 number before attracting an obsessed fan, Carole Gold (who ended up behind bars) and Christina Carlin-Kraft, who was found strangled in her apartment at age 36.
Though the case is not listed in the ID press release for The Playboy Murders, I would imagine the infamous Dorothy Stratten story would be covered as well. Guess we will have to find out!
