Netflix pretty consistently adds horror and thriller films and series on a regular basis, and July is no exception. Let’s take a peek at what horror fans can find this month on Netflix.

July 14:

Bird Box Barcelona (Netflix Original) – In this “expansion” of popular Netflix series Bird Box, Sebastian is forced to survive in the abandoned streets of Barcelona. As he and a group of other survivors try to escape Barcelona, another threat begins to menace them.

July 21:

They Cloned Tyrone (Netflix Original) – An unlikely trio are thrown together to dig into a government conspiracy in this film, starring John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx. It’s described as a “pulp mystery caper”…sounds like fun!

July 28:

How to Become a Cult Leader (Netflix Original series) – Peter Dinklage narrates this docuseries, which digs into the rise and fall of six different cult leaders. The series is described as including “a tongue in cheek guide on how to go about attracting devoted cult followers.”

Other films and series coming to Netflix in July:

Warm Bodies – Based on the novel of the same name, Warm Bodies was inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Set during the zombie apocalypse, our main characters are a young woman named Julie, and a zombie known as R. As the two begin to fall in love, R’s heart begins to beat and he slowly regains some of his human traits.

Prom Night (2008) – A reboot of the 1980 slasher, this one stars Brittany Snow (X) as Donna, whose family is killed by her former biology teacher. It seems he had become obsessed with his student, and that obsession continues over the next three years when he escapes from prison. Wonder where he’ll go?

The Ring – Most horror fans have seen this one, but it’s always good for a rewatch. A videotape that causes the viewer to be killed within seven days of watching its weirdness ends up in the hands of journalist Rachel (Naomi Watts). The first twist comes when her little boy Noah watches it as well, and Rachel must try to save him before it’s too late.

End of Days – In this action-horror film, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as alcoholic former NYPD detective Jericho. When Jericho prevents a banker (Gabriel Byrne) from being killed, he ends up protecting an innocent young woman who has been chosen to conceive the Antichrist.

The Tutor – A professional tutor named Ethan accepts a high-paying job working with the son of a billionaire. But, this is one strange kid, and Ethan has bitten off more than he can chew.

Vivarium – A couple played by Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg visit a suburban neighborhood in search of a home. All of the homes look identical, and they find themselves lost in the neighborhood, only to return again and again to house number 9. It gets even weirder than that, folks.
