By Carla Davis
Shudder has released their Shudder Resurrected schedule for October, which includes Repertory titles new to the horror streaming platform.
Shudder had already announced the Original and Exclusive titles coming up in October, and this list is just as exciting, so get ready for a horrendously happy Halloween!
Here’s what is being added to the Shudder schedule for October:
October 1:
Dead End – Frank and Laura Harrington on their way to visit Laura’s parents on Christmas Eve, with son Richard, daughter Marion and Marion’s boyfriend. Frank makes the decision to take a shortcut, and the family has the worst trip of their lives.
The Gate – Stephen Dorff made his film debut as a boy named Glen, who with his friend Terry, accidently opens up a hole that unleashes evil demons into the world.
Lake Mungo – This found footage horror film is a favorite among fans of the genre. The family members of a girl who drowned in a lake start to see her around their house and by the lake.
May – Poor May. She is socially awkward, has a lazy eye, and her only friend is a doll in a glass case. When she finally starts making friends, she has a habit of obsessing over their best features, especially when they disappoint her.
Lords of Salem – In this Rob Zombie film, Heidi is a DJ who is sent a box containing a record album by a Band called The Lords. Uh-oh, it seems the album has ties with a coven of Satan worshippers!
Killer Klowns from Outer Space – In this scifi/horror/comedy mashup, a group of evil aliens who appear as clowns invade Earth, starting with a small town. When they begin to drink the blood of the townspeople, it’s up to Mike and his friends to save the world.
Evil Dead II – In what is basically a higher-budget remake of The Evil Dead, Bruce Campbell’s Ash visits a remote cabin in the woods with his girlfriend. They find a strange book in the basement, and end up summoning evil beings.
October 2:
Spirit Halloween: The Movie – In this fun film, three friends sneak into a Spirit Halloween store, and hide. When the store is closed for the night, they think it’s all going to be fun and games, but there is something evil afoot (including animated creatures who come to life).
Watch all three Hell House LLC films in preparation for the Shudder premiere of Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor
Hell House LLC: The Director’s Cut – The special edition of this cult favorite found footage movie includes eight extra minutes of deleted scenes, audition footage, outtakes and director commentary.
Hell House LLC: The Abaddon Hotel – In this sequel to Hell House LLC, set eight years after the original film, journalist Jessica Foxx visits the hotel in search of evidence.
Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire – Russell Wynn has an interactive show called Insomnia, and makes the ill-advised decision to stage it in the Abaddon Hotel.
October 9:
Dog Soldiers – Neil Marshall (The Descent) directed this film, in which a group of British soldiers find themselves in the Scottish wilderness, fighting off a pack of strange wolves.
All Hallows’ Eve – In this horror anthology film, a babysitter plays a video tape that includes a murderous clown. You may know the clown as Terrifier’s Art the Clown.
All Hallows’ Eve 2 – A woman being stalked by a man in a jack o’ lantern mask plays a video tape featuring some gruesome murders.
October 16:
Lockdown Tower – In this apocalyptic horror film, people living in a tower in Paris awaken one morning to find that the world outside has seemingly disappeared, covered in a dense fog they cannot see through.
October 23:
Kidnapped – When a family becomes victims of a home invasion, they are held hostage by three menacing men.
The Midnight Man – Three girls discover a strange game in the attic, and playing it summons The Midnight Man, who can tell their worst fears.
October 31:
All seven Saw films will be available to stream on Shudder, which is perfect prep work before seeing Saw X in a theater. It begins with two men waking up in a room. They don’t know one another, they don’t know how they got there, and they don’t know whose body is sprawled on the floor in a puddle of blood.
