It's no secret that Netflix constantly adds to its vast streaming catalog. Keeping up with every new addition would be nearly impossible, though it is slightly easier if you're focused on one genre.

We covered the most significant horror releases added to Netflix this month previously, but just within the past week or so, Netflix has slipped a few surprises onto the app that weren't noted ahead of time. That happens sometimes, and is why you always have to stay on your toes! Here are a couple of other horror films and shows recently added to Netflix this month that you might have missed.

The Dead Don't Die (2019)

This hilarious and absurdist zombie movie from 2019 recently landed on Netflix and is worth a watch if you've never seen it. The cast is surprisingly stacked, with stars like Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Selena Gomez, Austin Butler, Tilda Swinton, Iggy Pop, and a few other fun cameos. The Dead Don't Die puts its own unique twist on the zombie genre, focusing on a small town as the residents try to contend with the living dead.

The Blue Drum (2022)

Try something different with this horror short film added to Netflix recently. After her father dies, a woman becomes increasingly troubled by strange incidents. Her father's funeral brings everything to a head, revealing dark family secrets related to her strange and fragmented memories of a mother she never knew. The Blue Drum is perfect for anyone who wants to watch something on the shorter side but still wants a complete story.

Happiness (2021)

Looking for another Korean zombie show to watch while we wait for the return of All of Us Are Dead? Then you're in luck. This Thursday, Dec. 12, Netflix is adding the 12-episode series Happiness. In a world where infectious diseases run rampant, survivors must contend with a disease that causes the infected to regress into a zombie-like state.

The Piano Lesson (2024)

Malcolm Washington directs this poignant drama film that makes some surprisingly eerie twists and turns late into its story. You might have overlooked this one if you had just seen "family drama" in the descriptor, but The Piano Lesson adds horror elements. I wouldn't describe it as a full-on horror movie, but it definitely veers into that ballpark. The story revolves around a family deciding what to do with an heirloom piano and their legacy.

The Dark Tower (2017)

Another film that's not entirely a horror movie, but this sci-fi dark fantasy film is based on one of Stephen King's most iconic book series of all time. While the adaptation itself has netted wildly varied opinions, it's never really a bad time to watch a movie that stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.
