It's almost time to say goodbye to 2024 and hello to 2025, but before everything wraps up, Netflix will be releasing its last set of shows and movies for the year. Some of those shows and films are of the horror genre, and of course, being a horror site and all, we're here to share every horror title set to be released on Netflix in December.
However, it's important to mention that we'll also share some thrillers dropping on the streaming platform next month. If you're a horror fan, chances are you enjoy thrillers as well. We just wanted to give you more options. Now, without further ado, here's what you should have on your watch list for December!
Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld
Release date: Dec. 5, 2024
So, Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld is an animated teen horror series slated to drop on Netflix in early December, but that doesn't mean it's only meant for a younger audience to watch. People of all ages could enjoy this show. Take a look at the official trailer above, and you'll understand what I mean.
Chinese-American teen Jentry Chau lives in a small town in Texas, and she has spent her whole life trying to hide her supernatural powers from others so that she can fit in. If balancing high school wasn't hard enough, her life gets a lot more complicated when she discovers that a demon king is hunting her for her powers. Ali Wong voices the lead role of Jentry Chau. Bowen Yang, Lori Tan Chinn, Lucy Liu, Jimmy O. Yang, Sheng Wang, and Woosung Kim join Wong in the cast.
Subservience
Release date: Dec. 5, 2024
One of the thrillers coming to Netflix in December that we recommend you check out is Subservience. It's a sci-fi thriller centering on an AI robot going rogue. When his wife falls ill, a desperate father purchases a lifelike AI android named Alice to assist with household chores. While everything initially seems to be going fine, things take a dark turn when Alice gains sentience and develops an obsession with her new owner.
Michele Morrone stars as the struggling father, Nick, while Megan Fox plays the role of Alice, the life-like domestic AI gynoid.
Carry-On
Release date: Dec. 13, 2024
Another thriller worth adding to your watch list and checking out is Carry-On. It stars Taron Egerton as a young TSA agent racing to outwit a mysterious traveler who blackmails him into letting a dangerous package be smuggled onto a Christmas Eve flight. Emmy Award-winning actor Jason Bateman plays the role of the mysterious traveler. The rest of the cast is made up of Logan Marshall-Green, Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, Theo Rossi, Dean Norris, Sinqua Walls, and several others.
Squid Game season 2
Release date: Dec. 26, 2024
The long-awaited Squid Game season 2 is finally here, bringing even more high-stakes thrills and deadly challenges. This is definitely Netflix's biggest end-of-the-year release, and what an incredible way to bring 2024 to a close. Gi-hun, who swore vengeance at the end of the first season, is determined to take down the Front Man and end the deadly games once and for all. So, he returns to the game once more.
Lee Jung-jae reprises his role as Gi-hun. Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo also return in their respective roles from season 1 as the Front Man, Hwang Jun-ho, and Recruiter. New cast members this season are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.
Evil season 3
Release date: Dec. 31, 2024
With the first two seasons of the supernatural horror series already streaming on Netflix, the streaming giant is set to add the third season to its platform on the last day of the year. It stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi as a forensic psychologist, a priest-in-training, and a tech expert who team up to explore and investigate potentially supernatural events for the Catholic Church.
