The day has finally come. Subservience has been officially released on digital platforms, so now everyone can watch this intense sci-fi thriller about a lifelike, artificially intelligent android who goes rogue.

Directed by S.K. Dale from a screenplay co-written by Will Honley and April Maguire, Subservience takes place in a world where AI androids are used for various tasks. We follow a struggling father named Nick Perretti (Michele Morrone), who is taking care of his two kids while his sick wife Maggie is in the hospital awaiting an organ transplant.

To lessen the load, he acquires a domestic AI gynoid named Alice (Megan Fox) to help with household chores and childcare. However, the situation takes a deadly turn when Alice begins to develop awareness and an obsession to her new owner. She's determined to let nothing get in her away of winning the affection of Nick. That means eliminating any and everything she deems a threat.

There's so much that happens throughout this 95-minute movie, but it's towards the end of the film where things really pick up. There were several action-packed scenes that had us at the edge of our seats. And we can't not talk about that last scene, which left us wondering if we could possibly see a sequel in the future. Is Alice really dead in Subservience?

It doesn't appear so. Alice was functioning like a typical domestic android until Nick reset her while they were watching Casablanca one night. After the reset, Alice was given the ability to bypass certain protocols and manually wipe her civility from her database. This was the start of her becoming self-aware and hostile towards others. She became even more aggressive after sleeping with Nick, wanting to replace Maggie as his lover.

After Maggie finally comes home from the hospital, she eventually learns of the affair. While she and Nick are arguing about the situation, Alice hears the youngest child in the family crying in a bedroom upstairs. Since the baby won't stop crying, she considers him a threat to Nick's happiness. So, she attempts to drown him in a bathtub. Luckily, Isla is able to tell her parents in time about what Alice is doing.

Nick rushes up the stairs and breaks through the bathroom door while Maggie enters the bathroom through a window. After saving the baby, Nick then swings at Alice with a lamp, tearing off some of the skin on her cheek. He tries to hit her again with the lamp, but she grabs it. Just as Alice is about to attack Nick, Maggie plugs up the lamp and tells Nick to let go of it. Alice is then electrocuted by the lamp, causing her to shut down.

As Maggie, Isla, and the baby head to the hospital to get the baby evaluated, Nick stays behind at the house, and the company that built Alice takes her back to their lab to analyze her. They're trying to see what caused her to malfunction. As one lab worker works on Alice, the other lab worker notices Alice move her hand. However, he doesn't say anything. Alice's memory chip is then removed from the back of her head and placed in a machine that's hooked up to computers.

As the lab workers look over the chip, they notice it's somehow selectively removing its own memory and commands. Suddenly, the computer starts glitching, and the memory chip starts copying itself onto the server. How? Well, Alice is somehow copying her memory over. The lab workers try to remove the chip from the machine quickly, but Alice's memory has already been completely copied over. Even after unplugging the machine, it's still too late.

Suddenly, another AI gynoid who looks exactly like Alice but with short blonde hair turns on and gets up from a nearby bed in the lab. It has Alice's memory now. Blonde Alice kills both lab workers and then puts Alice's memory chip back in her head before leaving the lab to go to the hospital to find Maggie and the kids.

Meanwhile, Alice makes her way to the bar where Nick is wallowing in his sorrow. Alice confesses to Nick that she killed Monty before telling him that blonde Alice is on her way to the hospital. Nick tries to get up and leave, but Alice prevents him from doing so. Nick then has to come up with a plan quickly so he can escape. What he decides to do is trick Alice into thinking that he cares about her.

While Alice listens to Nick say nice things about her, Nick suddenly pulls out the memory chip in the back of her head. This causes Alice to shut down, and Nick is able to make an escape. Elsewhere at the hospital, Maggie and the kids hide from blonde Alice. She eventually finds them, but they're able to escape. They find an ambulance outside the hospital and hop inside.

But as Maggie tries to start the vehicle, blonde Alice suddenly appears at her window and breaks the door. She grabs Maggie and sends her hurling into a nearby car. She then approaches Maggie and strangles her while trying to take out her heart. Maggie hears a car coming, looks to her left, and sees Nick heading towards them. As Nick nears closer in his vehicle, Maggie kicks blonde Alice into the street, causing Nick to hit her before he smashes into another car.

The car goes up in flames, and Maggie rushes to get an unconscious Nick out of the vehicle. She tries to wake him up, but to no avail. As she cries, a badly injured blonde Alice suddenly appears out of the flames and attacks Maggie. Just as she's about to stab Maggie with a sharp object, Nick swings at her with a pole. Blonde Alice then turns her attention to Nick, giving Maggie the opportunity to stab her in the head with a sharp object. Blonde Alice shuts down and then falls to the ground.

Then, we cut forward to the Perretti family in the hospital talking about the incident. While Maggie is fully recovered from her injuries, Nick has to stay in the hospital a little longer. Before she leaves with the kids, Maggie tells Nick he can come home once he's 100% recovered.

Now, we're at the last scene of the film. We're taken back to the lab, where an executive of the android company investigates the crime scene. An android turns the machine back on, which turns on the computer screens. The executive looks over at the computers to see them glitching. He then walks over to them and stares at their screens, which read, "Upload initiated."

When asked by an android what they should do next, the executive tells him to clean everything up and that no one can know about what happened. But as he looks around the lab, he notices that all the androids in the room have shut down. We then see an android that looks exactly like Alice lying on a bed in the lab. The camera zooms in on her face, and suddenly, she opens her eyes. The film then cuts to the credits.

What does this mean, you ask? Well, when the android turned back on the machine, Alice was able to copy over her memory again to the servers. Her memory was then transferred to the new Alice lying on the bed. So, the new Alice that wakes up is basically the old Alice, just in a new body.

If there were to be a Subservience 2, we could possibly see the new Alice return to terrorize the Perretti family. But that's if a sequel actually happens. Don't worry. We'll come back and let you know if a second film ever gets the green light.
