Hold Your Breath (Hulu original)

Sarah Paulson can do no wrong in my eyes! I've enjoyed every horror film and show she's starred in, and with Hold Your Breath, I was once again reminded how talented she is. Forget what the critics have to say about this movie. I mean, it might not be the best horror movie I've watched this year, but it's definitely up there.

It's a psychological horror-thriller taking place in 1933 Oklahoma and follows a mother struggling to care for her children amidst the relentless and harrowing dust storms. As the dust storms wage on, the mother's mental state deteriorates, leading her to become convinced that a sinister presence within the dust storms is threatening her family.

Mr. Crocket (Hulu original)

During spooky season this year, Hulu released Mr. Crocket, an original horror movie centering around a mysterious children's show host who emerges from television sets and kidnaps children. After the host abducts the son of a recently widowed woman named Summer, Summer sets out on a dangerous quest to save him. Elvis Nolasco portrays the children's show host, Mr. Crocket. Jerrika Hinton plays the desperate mother, Summer Beverly, and Ayden Gavin plays Summer's kidnapped son, Major Beverly.

The First Omen (licensed movie)

The First Omen is a supernatural horror flick that serves as a prequel to The Omen (1976). After relocating to Rome to dedicate her life to the Catholic church, Margaret's life soon takes a dark turn when she uncovers a sinister conspiracy within the church to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.

Nell Tiger Free stars as Margaret. Tawfeek Barhom, Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy also star in this horror film.

Immaculate stars Sydney Sweeney as Cecilia, a young American nun who arrives at a quiet, remote convent in Italy hoping to embark on a new chapter in her life. But shortly after her arrival, she discovers that the convent harbors unsettling and sinister secrets. The cast is also made up of Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tabasco.

Late Night with the Devil

Another good supernatural horror film to check out on Hulu is Late Night with the Devil. It's the year 1977, and late-night talk show host Jack Delroy is struggling with his career. His show isn't doing too well with ratings. In order to get the show back in good standing, he sets up a special Halloween episode featuring a 13-year-old girl who is allegedly possessed by a demonic spirit. But what starts as a regular broadcast to revive his career quickly goes terribly wrong when evil forces are released during the broadcast.

Alien: Romulus
Alien: Romulus / 20th Century Studios

Alien: Romulus (licensed movie)

Technically, this movie isn't on Hulu yet. It's set to land on the streaming platform on Nov. 21, but we saw this film in theaters back in August, and it's definitely not one you want to miss! It's set within the iconic Alien franchise and takes place between the movies Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). We follow a young team of space colonists who must fight for their lives after encountering hostile alien creatures while scavenging an abandoned space station.

Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu make up the cast of this hit sci-fi horror film. A sequel is currently in the works.

Sting (licensed movie)

12-year-old Charlotte finds a tiny spider in her apartment building and decides to secretly keep it as a pet. But that spider eventually transforms into a giant monstrous creature with a taste for human flesh. Now, it's up to Charlotte and her stepfather Ethan to put a stop to the creature before it destroys everything and kills her entire family.

Handling the Undead (licensed movie)

While grieving the loss of their loved ones, three families are shocked to discover that they have mysteriously returned from the dead. However, their deceased loved ones are not the same people they once were. Now, the families are left to uncover the mystery behind their resurrections while also dealing with the emotional turmoil of their returns.
