While Shudder’s annual Halfway to Halloween campaign begins in April, the horror streaming giant has rolled out a pretty solid March schedule in advance. We are getting some fresh new exclusives and originals, a new season of The Last Drive-In and some classic 1920s horror films.
First, let’s look at Shudder’s Weekly Watch Parties for March. Each Friday, join the featured watch party starting at 9:00 p.m. ET.
March 7 – The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs Season 7 Premiere Watch Party, featuring a surprise double feature
March 14 – Irish Horror Watch Party, featuring Boys from County Hell and Grabbers
March 21 – Coming of Rage Watch Party, featuring Bloody Axe Wound and Blood Relatives
March 28 – Devastating Horror Watch Party, featuring The Rule of Jenny Pen and Kill List

March 1:
30 Days of Night – Barrow, Alaska is about to experience their annual 30 days of complete darkness when a group of ravenous vampires strolls into town, seeing Barrow as an all you can eat buffet.
Christine – In this adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, nerdy teen Arnie buys a 1958 Plymouth Fury with a mind of its own. Soon, Christine wreaks bloody havoc on the guys bullying Arnie.
Silent Hill – When Rose sets out to take her dying daughter to a faith healer, they end up in the terrifying town of Silent Hill.
Army of Darkness – Evil Dead’s Ash ends up in the medieval days, tormented by Lord Arthur. Luckily, Ash has his trusty chainsaw to help him survive.
Flowing – “On a rainy day in Rome, a mysterious vapor seeps from manholes, causing those who inhale it to confront their suppressed desires and rage. The Morel family is unaware of the impending revelation of their darkest impulses.”
Mermaid Legend – When business developers murder a fisherman who is trying to stop them, his wife, a pearl diver named Migiwa seeks revenge.
Crazy Family – “After moving into a new house, a family starts acting crazier and crazier.”
We Have Always Lived in the Castle – If you loved The Haunting of Hill House, check out this film adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s novel. Merricat and Constance are sisters living in the house where their family members died of poisoning. Cousin Charles’s sudden appearance threatens to upset their dynamic and way of life.
March 3:
The Convent – A group of students make the mistake of breaking into a convent where nuns were brutally murdered years ago.
Tropic – Set in the near future when humans are seeking someplace to live besides earth, Tropic introduces us to twin brothers who are training as astronauts. When they encounter space debris while swimming, one of the brothers develops a strange bacterial infection.
Wolfkin – Desperate to get to the bottom of her son Martin’s aggressiveness, Elaine travels to Luxembourg to visit his late father’s family. She soon realizes it may be the reason for his violent nature.

Joe Bob, Darcy and the rest of TLDI crew are back for another season
March 7:
The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs (season premiere, available On Demand March 9) – Join Joe Bob and his crew for the premiere of their seventh season. For this season, the series is returning to double features, with one episode premiering on the first Friday of each month.
Starve Acre (Shudder Exclusive) – In 1970s England, Richard and Juliette’s starts to act strangely. At their isolated home (called Starve Acre), Richard discovers folklore about that may involve an old oak tree on their land.
March 8:
Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922) – One of the most iconic vampire movies of all time, this silent film tells the story of a young wife who falls under the evil spell of the mysterious Count Orloc.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) – Another silent film, this one takes us to a carnival in Germany, where Francis and Alan come face-to-face with the maniacal Dr. Caligari, who can see into the future.
The Phantom of the Opera (1925) – Completing the silent movie trio is this one, which was even adapted for the stage as a musical. Young opera singer Christine is instructed by a mysterious masked figure who lives beneath the Opera House.
March 10:
Sweet Sweet Lonely Girl – Teenager Adele is caring for her agoraphobic Aunt when she becomes friends with a strange young woman.
Sator – “Secluded in a desolate forest, a broken family is observed by the demon Sator who is attempting to claim them.”
Without Name – A developer hires land surveyor Eric to take measurements in an ancient forest. Soon, Eric begins to see movement and dark shapes in the trees.
March 15:
976-EVIL – A bullied teen uses a hotline to the devil to seek revenge on the people who have tormented him.
Brainscan – Edward Furlong is Michael, a teen who plays a new CD-ROM video game that is played from a killer’s POV. Soon, Michael discovers that every violent crime he thinks is only in the game actually happens in real life.
Out of the Dark (1989) – Phone sex workers are being viciously murdered, and law enforcement suspects the killer may be a client.

The Evil Dead (1981) – Ash and his friends plan a road trip to spend the night in an isolated cabin, but things go awry when they find an ancient book in the basement.
Evil Dead (2013) – In this much better than average reboot, Mia (Jane Levy, who gives an outstanding performance) wants to kick her drug habit. Her supportive brother and friends go with her to an isolated cabin, but that pesky Book of the Dead throws a bloody wrench in the works.
March 17:
Tale of Tales – “Three rulers in neighbouring kingdoms deal with their obsessions: one king is a fornicating libertine, another king is captivated by a strange animal, and a queen is consumed by her wish for a child.”
My Amityville Horror – If you are fascinated by the story of that iconic home in Amityville, you will probably enjoy this fascinating documentary. Daniel Lutz was only a child when his family moved into the house, and now he tells his side of the story for the first time. I watched this a couple of years ago, and it really gave me a lot to think about.
The Clovehitch Killer – 16-year-old Tyler discovers a pretty disturbing photo in his father’s truck, and begins to suspect that dear old dad might be the infamous Clovehitch Killer.
March 21:
Bloody Axe Wound (Shudder Exclusive) – Abbie Bladecut’s father is making a living filming real-life killings and selling them. He wants his daughter to join the family business, but she is torn.
March 24:
The Snowtown Murders – Based on a true story, The Snowtown Murders takes place in Australia, where teen Jamie lives with his mom and brothers. Lacking a father figure, Jamie is easily persuaded by a predator to join him in a murder spree.
Room 237 – This doc takes a deep dive into the theories devised by people who are obsessed with Stanley Kubrick’s film The Shining.

March 28:
The Rule of Jenny Pen (Shudder Original) – After he suffers a serious stroke, Stefan (Geoffrey Rush) is partially paralyzed and sent to a retirement home. He becomes acquainted with another resident named Dave, who is secretly tormenting the residents with a game he calls The Rule of Jenny Pen. It’s up to Stefan to stop Dave.
