One of the most underrated slashers could finally be making its bloody return. Although not liked by most critics when it was released back in 2009, Sorority Row has gained a cult following over the years, with fans praising its creative kills, campy tone, and surprisingly strong performances from its cast. Now, we just might be getting a sequel that brings back the bloody fun and reignites the slasher genre for a whole new audience.

On April 25, Josh Stolberg, one of the writers of the 2009 original, took to X to share an old poster from the first film. While fans were thrilled by the nostalgic image, it was the post's caption that truly caught their attention. The caption reads, "Andy is dead! But the tire iron will be back!" Although Stolberg doesn't directly confirm that a new movie is in the works, the cryptic message has ignited a wave of speculation, with fans eagerly wondering if this is a hint at the long-awaited return of Sorority Row.

From Stolberg's caption, it appears that he's working on a script for a potential new film, though nothing has been officially confirmed. What's also intriguing, and leads us to believe he's genuinely working on a script, are his responses to fans in the comments. When one fan suggested the potential new movie be titled "Return to Sorority Row," Stolberg responded that it’s "in contention." Why else would he engage with fans about possible titles unless he’s actively involved in shaping the direction of a new film? He even replies to a fan, saying that he has a dream cast. At this point, it's hard to ignore the fact that Stolberg seems deeply invested in the idea of bringing Sorority Row back.

In the first movie, Andy (Julian Morris) is revealed as the killer targeting the sorority sisters, but he meets his tragic end in the final act. The tire iron played a major role in the original movie as it was used in a prank gone wrong that set the entire plot into motion. By Stolberg saying that the tire iron will be back, it looks like he’s teasing the return of the signature weapon and possibly hinting that someone else will be picking it up to continue the killing spree. Of course, this is if a sequel is indeed what he’s working on.

Could Garrett (Matt O'Leary) be the one to take up the tire iron? It's certainly possible. He definitely has a motive. In the first movie, Jessica (Leah Pipes) runs over Garrett with her car, and he's initially presumed dead. However, in the film's final moments, we see a man with slashed wrists, which suggests that Garrett may have survived and could still be out there.

Garrett was already mentally unstable before his near-death experience. The trauma from the car accident, combined with his already fragile mental state, could have pushed him over the edge, making him a perfect candidate to take up the tire iron and continue the killing spree. Stolberg even responded to a fan in the comments asking if Garrett is still alive, confirming that he is. So, with Garrett’s survival confirmed by Stolberg, it opens up the possibility that he could return as the next killer if there is to be a follow-up.

While nothing is confirmed yet, all signs point to the possibility of something brewing behind the scenes for a new Sorority Row movie. Fans should definitely keep an eye on updates, as it seems like Stolberg is dropping clues about what's to come.
