Casting announcements for the upcoming horror film Scream 7 are coming in quickly! The latest to join the cast is Hysteria! star Anna Camp, and we're curious about who she will be playing in the new movie. Unfortunately, character details are being kept secret, but this isn't surprising, as most of the previous casting announcements didn't include character details either.
Camp's casting comes just a day after the announcement that Mason Gooding would be reprising his role as Chad Meeks-Martin from Scream (2022) and Scream VI in the seventh installment. Also joining the cast in new roles are Asa Germann (The Boys, Gen V), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Celeste O’Connor (Madame Web), and Sam Rechner (The Fabelmans).
Neve Campbell, who portrayed Sidney Prescott in the first five Scream movies, returns in this iconic role for Scream 7. In addition, Isabel May (1923) will play Sidney's daughter in the film. Plot details are being kept confidential, but according to Campbell, the movie will center around her Sidney character. Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures are behind the seventh film.
Scream creator Kevin Williamson, who wrote the scripts for Scream (1996), Scream 2 and Scream 4, returns to the slasher franchise but as director. Guy Busick wrote the screenplay. Busick also co-wrote the screenplays for other horror movies like Ready or Not, Scream (2022), Scream VI and Abigail.
The cast and crew were reportedly set to start filming in December 2024, but it's unclear if the cameras have started rolling yet. What we do know is the official release date. Scream 7 will hit theaters on Feb. 27, 2026. Although that's a long way from now, we'll be patiently waiting for its release. Who knows, maybe the release date will get pushed up.
