The iconic Scream franchise is set to return with its seventh installment on Feb. 27, 2026, and we've just learned some new information about this upcoming film. There's been a new cast addition, and you might recognize this talented actress.

Isabel May, who is best known for starring as Elsa Dutton in the Western drama miniseries 1883 and its sequel 1923, has been reportedly cast in the role of Sidney Prescott's daughter in Scream 7. However, her character's name has not been revealed just yet. We'll get back to you with this information once we find out.

Neve Campbell, who fans will know for playing Sidney Prescott in the first five Scream movies, will reprise this role in Scream 7. According to Campbell, the new film will center around her character. If you're a true Scream fan, you'd know that Sidney was a central figure in the first four Scream movies.

She came back for Scream (2022) and played a major part, but that film was more focused on a new set of characters. She sat out on Scream VI due to a salary dispute, but that problem seems to have been squared away, seeing as though she will be making her return to the franchise with the new movie.

Courteney Cox, who has played Gale Weathers in every Scream movie so far, hasn't officially signed on to return, but talks are being had. Fans are also hoping to see another Scream alumni, Patrick Dempsey, reprise his role as Mark Kincaid, but his casting hasn't been confirmed either.

Melissa Barrera, who portrayed Sam Carpenter in Scream and Scream VI, will not return for the seventh film as she was fired from the project last year. In addition, Jenna Ortega, who played Tara Carpenter in Scream and Scream VI, will not be coming back as she exited the movie due to a busy schedule. It's unknown if Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding will reprise their roles as Mindy Meeks-Martin and Chad Meeks-Martin from Scream and Scream VI in the new film.

Spyglass Media Group is the production company behind Scream 7, with Paramount Pictures as distributor. Kevin Williamson, aka Scream creator, is set to direct from a screenplay written by Guy Busick. Busick came up with the film's story with James Vanderbilt. Additionally, production is believed to start this December.
