Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have announced a new addition for their Halloween Horror Nights events this year. Art the Clown will be the star of Welcome to the Funhouse, which will be a haunted house inspired by the popular series of Terrifier films.

Art the Clown is the deranged killer in the Terrifier movies, of which there are currently three. Director Damien Leone has confirmed that a fourth film is in the works, expected to release in theaters some time in 2026.

The Terrifier films are known for their over-the-top gore and the horror/comedy nature of Art the Clown. The original Terrifier was crowd funded by its creator Leone, and made its premiere at the Telluride Horror Show in October of 2016. It has since become a cult film with a huge following, and Art the Clown is a popular Halloween costume choice.

In the new haunted house, guests will be treated to the gore, smells, sounds and gruesome sights that will be familiar to anyone who has seen the movies, and will see the characters they are familiar with. Art will be there (obviously), but you might also spot Vicky and the Little Pale Girl, and some of Art’s signature kill scenes will be depicted as well.  Universal describes the house as possessing an “unfathomable level of gore” and states that the twisted funhouse will “deliver one of the goriest experiences in event history.” Yikes.

The press release says, “Chaos reigns at the Clown Café, terror festers in a revolting bathroom and holiday cheer turns deadly in a Christmas nightmare.” **Note: I’m thinking the “smells” might be related to the revolting bathroom, yuck.

Will you be able to make it through the Funhouse, or will you become one of Art the Clown’s grotesque displays?

New, limited release merchandise tied in with the Terrifier house will also be available, including a bag and t-shirt. There is also a graphic puzzle piece designed to fit into this year’s collectible Halloween Horror Nights frame.
