Twin Peaks was definitely an iconic horror-related television series, and its legacy lives on 35 years after it made its debut on ABC. It had a unique blend of horror, comedy, mystery, drama and surrealism that captivated audiences, and the two-hour pilot episode became the highest-rated movie for televisions 1989-1990 season, but was sadly cancelled after its second season.
The series began with the discovery of a young woman’s body washed up on the bank of a river in the small town of Twin Peaks, Washington. When the body turns out to be that of prom queen Laura Palmer, everyone is shocked and saddened, because she was known to be kind, even delivering meals to the homebound.
Special FBI Agent Dale Cooper comes to town to investigate, suspecting that Laura’s killer may have also been responsible for murdering another young woman a year earlier. As Coop gets to know Twin Peaks’s unique and unusual residents, the mystery deepened.
Under pressure from the network, David Lynch reluctantly outed Laura’s killer in an early episode of season two, and the ratings plummeted from there. It didn’t help that the network moved the series around on their schedule, and made it hard for fans of the series to keep up.

To fans’ delight, Twin Peaks was revived for a third season on ShowTime in 2017 (with much of the original cast intact), and it was just as weird and trippy as ever.
There is great news for my fellow Twin Peaks fans, because some of the original cast members will be on tour this August in Conversation with the Stars.
Which Twin Peaks cast members are part of the tour?
The most recent announcement was that Dana Ashbrook (who played Bobby Briggs) will be joining. Also appearing will be Ray Wise (Leland Palmer), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), Harry Goaz (Deputy Andy Brennan), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy) and Sabrina S. Sutherland, who was Executive Producer of Twin Peaks: The Return (AKA season three).
Ashbrook appeared as Bobby in all three seasons, as well as in 1992’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me movie. He will be talking about his experience with creator David Lynch, and about his character’s growth, going from a rebellious high schooler to a Twin Peaks deputy. He will also be available for fan photos and autographs, along with the other stars.
Of the upcoming tour, Ashbrook had this to say: “I am very excited to be touring the US with dear old friends! Really looking forward to meeting fans and sharing stories about our days working on Twin Peaks.”
Sheryl Lee and Dana Ashbrook will be appearing only on select dates; for all dates and tickets, visit the website. Note that some dates are already sold out.
