Where are all the Fear Street fans? Today is our day! Netflix has just released the thrilling new trailer for Fear Street: Prom Queen, and it's packed with '80s nostalgia, blood-soaked chaos, and all the slasher thrills we've been waiting for. Set to be released this May, the film promises to take us on a terrifying journey back to Shadyside, where prom season turns deadly.

Matt Palmer directed this new slasher from a script he co-wrote with Donald McLeary. It's adapted from R. L. Stine's 1992 novel The Prom Queen, but with a darker, more twisted take on the source material. It takes place in the cursed town of Shadyside in the year 1988. It's prom season, and everyone at Shadyside High is preparing for the big night, some more than others.

We're referring to the popular girls of the school. They've been planning for this moment all year, from their dresses to their makeup, all to ensure they dominate the night and secure that prom queen crown. However, their high school dreams quickly spiral into a bloody nightmare when a mysterious killer starts hunting them down, one by one. The brutal killings seem to have begun after the arrival of a new girl entering the prom queen competition. Hmm. That's suspicious... Could she be the killer? I guess we'll have to wait until Fear Street: Prom Queen releases on Netflix to find out.

India Fowler stars in the leading role of Lori Granger, the new girl who enters the race vying for the coveted prom queen crown. Also in the cast are Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor, and Katherine Waterston.

Fear Street: Prom Queen is set in the same universe as Netflix's Fear Street trilogy, but it is its own standalone story. In other words, it introduces fresh characters and presents a new, terrifying mystery while still set in Shadyside. From the trailer alone, it’s evident that Fear Street: Prom Queen is gearing up to be a bloody and suspenseful ride. Let's just hope it lives up to its predecessors.
