Through his megadeal with Warner Bros. Discovery, highly successful and prolific producer and screenwriter Greg Berlanti will be returning to more hands-on creative work, specifically writing for three different shows, each being developed for a different streaming platform. One of those series is a horror thriller titled Stillwater, which will be created for Prime Video.

Some comic book fans will be familiar with the show's title right away, as it's based on Skybound's horror comic book series of the same name by Chip Zdarsky. Amazon has given Stillwater a series order, although it's unclear how many episodes the first season will have.

Berlanti is best known for his work on shows such as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, You, Titans and Superman & Lois. He and Carly Wray (Watchmen, Mad Men) are working together to adapt the Stillwater comic for the screen. They will also executive produce along with Zdarsky, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Glenn Geller, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Robbie Rogers, and Jonathan Gabay. In addition, Skybound Entertainment is signed on to produce the series.

The horror show centers around a character named Daniel West, who is an ex-convict. He gets an unusual letter that promises to reveal information about his past and offers him a large inheritance in a town called Stillwater. When he arrives in the town, he realizes that it is a strange place where people do not age, no one dies, and it's impossible to leave. Based on the premise, it’s clear that Stillwater is filled with disturbing mysteries and dark secrets, and we can't wait to see how Daniel navigates the terrifying world he’s walked into.

No actors have been attached to this project yet, but now that it has been ordered, we can expect casting announcements to follow soon as the show moves further in the development process. Believe me. We're just as eager to learn who will bring the intriguing characters from the comics to life, especially with such a chilling and mysterious premise.

Besides Stillwater, Berlanti is reportedly working on a teen mystery series at Hulu called Foster Dade and an untitled family drama at Max.

As we learn new information about Stillwater, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest developments. So, stay tuned to 1428 Elm!
