Sony has finally dropped the official trailer for its upcoming Valentine’s Day-themed horror film, Heart Eyes, and it’s making us even more eager to catch it in theaters! Heart Eyes is one of our most highly anticipated horror flicks of 2025. Coming from the same production team behind Scream, this slasher introduces viewers to a new iconic masked serial killer known as Heart Eyes. For the past several years, this infamous masked killer has stalked, hunted, and brutally murdered couples on Valentine's Day. On this particular Valentine's Day, the killer embarks on his killing spree in Seattle.
Meanwhile, two co-workers pulling an overtime shift at their job find themselves targeted by the Heart Eyes killer, who mistakenly believes they are a couple. Will they survive the night?

American filmmaker Josh Ruben, who is best known for helming the horror comedy Werewolves Within, directed this film. Additionally, Phillip Murphy (Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard), Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day 2U, We Have a Ghost), and Michael Kennedy (Freaky, It's a Wonderful Knife) wrote the movie's screenplay together. Spyglass Media Group and Divide/Conquer produced the film.
Starring as the pair of co-workers who are mistaken as a couple are Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding. Holt and Gooding are in no way new to the horror world. Holt previously starred in the horror movie Totally Killer with Kiernan Shipka, while Gooding is known for playing one of Ghostface's victims in Scream (2022) and Scream VI. He's also set to return in his role as Chad Meeks-Martin in the upcoming Scream 7.
Guess what other talented actors you can expect to see in the movie? Jordana Brewster (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and Devon Sawa (Final Destination)! Michaela Watkins, Gigi Zumbado, Chris Parker, and Latham Gaines are also in the cast.
A plethora of horror films are set to be released in 2025. Heart Eyes should definitely be on your radar for this February, as should the upcoming horror comedy The Monkey, which is slated to be released in theaters on Feb. 21.
