Calling all horror buffs! Universal just released the first teaser trailer for one of its most anticipated horror films to be released this year, and it’s already grabbing everyone’s attention. It's the Jordan Peele-produced football-themed horror flick HIM, and this chilling preview will have you counting down the days until it hits theaters. Check it out down below!
How are we feeling about the teaser? Are you more eager to see the film now? There was a lot going on in this short 1 minute and 44-second trailer, but it definitely set the tone. It's clear that HIM is going to mess with our heads in true Jordan Peele fashion, and we can't wait to see how it all unfolds on the big screen!
Produced by Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, HIM was directed by Justin Tipping from a screenplay that he co-wrote with Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. It stars I Know What You Did Last Summer's Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, a promising quarterback whose entire life and sense of self revolve around football. But everything changes on the night before the professional football’s annual scouting Combine, when Cam is brutally attacked by an obsessed fan, resulting in a devastating brain injury that could end his career.
Just when all hope seems lost, Cam gets a second shot when Isaiah White, a legendary football player, offers to train him at his secluded estate. However, as Cam’s training intensifies, Isaiah’s charm begins to unravel, revealing a darker side that pulls Cam into a nightmarish situation. Instead of being the inspiring mentor he thought he was, Isaiah's true, more sinister nature begins to emerge. And what seemed like a dream opportunity at first soon turns into a psychological nightmare that might cost Cam more than just his career.
Marlon Wayans, who you might recognize for starring in a couple of the Scary Movies, takes on the role of the iconic quarterback who offers to train Cam, Isaiah White. Julia Fox (Uncut Gems) plays Elsie White, Isaiah's celebrity influencer wife. In addition, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, Akeem Hayes, and Tierra Whack are also in the cast.
